My ideal client is any individual or couple that is ready to actively do the work to adjust and rearrange their personal habits in order to more productively move forward in their lives. No matter the issue, counseling is built on the idea that the client is in charge of the progress by dictating the amount of energy and effort they put into the process. Showing someone possible paths is useless if they choose to not walk down it.
My form of counseling is based on working in the “here and now”. We focus heavily on present habits and patterns of behavior, how we process information, coping skills, and communication skills. This focus allows us to work on adjusting behaviors and mindsets in order to do things differently, and to show change in the short term.
I am a casual and comfortable person, and i try to bring that into my counseling practice. I want counseling to be a chance for people to reach their personal goals in a comfortable setting. If you have ever thought about counseling, but thought it would be to “clinical”, or “cold”, as so many people that i have spoken to have, then give me a call.
Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
Some blinders and absurdities
No doubt creep in;
Forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day;
You shall begin it well and
Serenely and with too high a spirit
To be encumbered with your old nonsense.
